Ghost Canvas — Privacy Policy
Ghost Canvas is a tracing app for iPhone and iPad. It is a one-time purchase with no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.
Your photos stay on your device
Reference images you import (from your photo library, camera, or Files) are processed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers — we have no servers that receive your content. All image effects (outlines, posterize, monochrome) run locally.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, your projects (reference images, thumbnails, and project settings) sync across your devices using Apple's CloudKit, stored in your private iCloud database. Only you can access this data; forCandies cannot read it. You can stop syncing by signing out of iCloud or disabling iCloud for Ghost Canvas in the Settings app, and you can remove the stored data by deleting your projects.
Crash and diagnostic data
To keep the app stable, Ghost Canvas uses Sentry to collect crash data, performance data, and other diagnostic data (such as device model, OS version, and app version). This data is anonymous, is not linked to your identity, and is used solely to find and fix bugs. It never includes your photos or drawings. Sentry's own privacy policy is available at sentry.io/privacy.
What we don't do
- No advertising and no third-party ad SDKs
- No tracking across apps or websites
- No user accounts and no collection of personal details
- No selling or sharing of data with third parties
Permissions the app requests
- Camera — to show the live view you trace over. The camera feed is displayed on screen only and is not recorded or stored (except in a timelapse you explicitly start).
- Photo library — to let you pick reference images, and to save timelapse videos if you choose to.
Children
Ghost Canvas does not collect personal information and is suitable for all ages (rated 4+).
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date.
